Holistic management of renal nephroblastoma in a juvenile dog with severe cachexia: A case report

This report presents a case of 2-month-old female German Shepherd dog with renal nephroblastoma and strong cachexia. The tumour was surgically removed graded as stage I favourable histopathology, but due to its large size, adjuvant chemotherapy, including doxorubicin vincristine, recommended. Before, during after the body weight gradually rebuilt an appropriately balanced diet containing proper amounts protein, fat numerous supplements necessary for growth development. Eighteen months diagnosis, in good condition had no metastases. In conclusion, this study shows that close cooperation between oncologists nutritionists is crucial successful oncological therapy, especially cachectic patient.
